Coming Soon! In the meantime, I'd like to share an important term that my interior design instructor, Judy Satkowski made sure her students were taught: The word "DRAPE" is a verb. The correct term is "DRAPERY" or "DRAPERIES", not "DRAPES!!!" And here's another: the correct word regarding color of fabrics, wallcoverings, etc. is: "COLORWAY". a color or arrangement of colors <fabric sold in a variety of colorways> Merriam-Webster. Oh, heck, while I'm at it, here are a few more: The emphasis in the word DAMASK is on the first syllable. The correct pronunciation of the word TOILE is "TWAL" The word JACQUARD is correctly pronounced with emphasis on either syllable. |
